These camo shotguns sell for $1300-1500 in the US. They are $1399 right now at cabelas and slightly less at scheels. Why are the $1979 in Canada everywhere?? The dollar translates to $1560 assuming $1399 US. Brokerage fees are not that much even if they come from the US. Does anyone know where I can buy one for ~$1600 CDN I want one and if I have to, I guess it's worth it to get a broker to bring it in for me but I'd prefer to buy in Canada.

Thanks!

Right on!

Talking of outrageous prices, take by example my black SBE brought back when Benneli was distributed by Stoeger (4-5 years ago) here in Canada, I paid 2199$ plus TPS+TVQ for a total of near 2600$ :runaway:

Things are a little better now with FN as the distributor and the strong Canadian Dollar, but you are right on the spot, it's still cost more than the guy would pay in the US. Small market means higher prices I guess...

This shotgun still worth every cent I put into it trough!

I can apparently buy a M4 Super 90 for $1999 and would really love that gun, except I need a good semi-auto for birds first. If I could use ti for birds, I would buy the Super 90 for sure, before we lose the option. I love that skeleton stock.

You ahve it backwards... Until 2 years ago, Benelli was distributed by R. Nicholls (home of the outrageous pricing). It was only once Stoeger bought Benelli a couple of years ago that the line became distibuted by Stoeger...

Nicholls now only does military / LE sales for Benelli.

I could be wrong but I think Stoegers Canada gets them direct from Italy as well. You'd think they'd be much less expensive... kinda strange.

I very well could be wrong but I would say Benelli bought Stoeger then used Stoegers existing distribtion network in Canada for the Benelli brand weapons. Regardless of this they're all owned by Beretta.
I just bought a Stoeger and while doing research I to noticed the difference in price between CAN and the US. I've heard about the small market reasoning before and find it hard to believe this could be true. I would think that in todays economy things wold run on more of a north american market rather than Canada/US market. Whats the price on firearms in Alaska? I bet its abit higher than in the rest of the US but not as high as in Canada. I'm wondering if there is a large import duty on firearms imposed by the canadian goverment.
