Benelli SBE3 Issues Resolved

Fit is really the key thing as they all say.

Last year I used the Maxus 2 but the LoP was too long and no local gunsmith wanted to cut the composite stock. So this season I took a chance with the SBE3 (regardless of the reported high POI) because it shouldered so well for me with my duck kit on. I've hunted 8 times in the last month and it has been flawless. I'd say my percentages are way up. I have not had to noticeably adjust. Don't fret too much about the reports. If it fits well, give it a try. You may be surprised like I was.

I do like the Beretta and Browning too. My brother shoots the A400. With a slightly shorter recoil pad, I get it feeling pretty good. I will try the Maxus 2 again but this time a variant with a shorter stock (I had the black composite stalker which has the longest LOP of all the Maxus 2s)

I caught the semi-auto bug do like the Benelli shotgun but being budget minded I ordered the Girsan MC-312 3 inch chamber. I do understand it's basically an M2 clone and parts (springs) can be interchanged with it.

Let us know how your new gun performs. Both reliability and poi. Congrats on the new scattergun

I had a SBE3 back in 2021 which was shooting 100/0 at 20 yards. The bottom of the pattern was actually a foot above point of aim. Shims did nothing for it. The only thing that would have fixed it was tying a balloon to the front of the barrel to force me to hold 8 ft under the target . . . so disappointing as the gun fit and felt so nice.

I desperately want to get another one but I am nervous of having the experience all over again.

My SBE2 still shoots as a shotgun should minus the fairly regular failure to eject problem.
