The Super Black Eagle 1 was released around 1992 according to what I could find online. Does anyone know if the Benelli Super Black Eagle 1 came from the factory with camo options? If so, in what year?

I am also wondering if the camo models (if they exist) would have wood underneath the camo or full synthetic/plastic.

Thanks in advance.

Have your read the article by Brian Lovett ." The Benelli SBE history of a duck gun " . Don't quote me on the title of the article . It been a bit since I read it . Its a pretty good write up on all three of the SBE models .

With regards to the stock question from reading the comfort tech synthetic stock was intrducded with the sbe2 . No mention of a synthetic for the sbe1 that I can find either .

Yes there was a camo synthetic original Benelli SBE, but not the H+K SBE....from what i recall.

I checked the date code (BL) on mine and it is from 1998. It is camo, but I was wondering if that was a factory option. It appears to be a factory job. There is a chip in the stock near the sling stud. Almost looks like it is wood underneath, but hard to tell. The weight and touch of the gun says otherwise (feels like synthetic).

I purchased this one used and I am hoping it will perform well in the cold when hunting. It had no issue cycling the 1 and 1/8 oz low brass browning loads, so that is a good sign.

Yes, thanks. That was basically the best information I could find.

A buddy of mine has the 4 variations. The original H&K Black Eagle(wood and black receiver, blued bbl), a Benellie Super Black Eagle in Realtree Camo, an SBE2 in some camo pattern, Max 4 I think? and an SBE3 in camo as well. I know where there is a Super Black Eagle for sale that probably doesn't have two hundred rounds of ammo through it in mint condition with the original hard case, paperwork and all the associated hardware with it for $1800. Its Realtree Camo. Its in the photo below. It belongs to a friend of mine in Ontario, he is not a member here. If you want his contact info PM me.
