Hey guys and gals,

I just got my Benelli Super Nova (Love it by the way). Looking for some advice/education on the choke. My primary use will be varmint/predator hunting as a back-up for my partner with the long range rifle.

The screw-in Full choke says "No Steel Shot." The question I have is, does this apply to Hevi-Shot Dead Coyote loads as well? Should I only be using the Modified or IC with that load?

I've done some google research, but have yet to get a good answer about the factory benelli chokes.

Thanks!

heavy shot

There are several manufactures making chokes for use with Heavy shot. If you look at Cabellas, they have them. Heavy shot chokes are extra thick walled and are choked extra full. Tight chokes are necessary because this shot is shaped slightly eliptical -- tight chokes manage the patterns better and keeps fliers to the minimal,

I'm not sure where you are, but if you can get to a cabela's they often have good benelli chokes in stock and in the bargain cave. I got a very nice superfull choke, regularly 60$ for 8.95$ at the one in S. Michigan (near Toledo OH).
