Hey all! Die hard Winchester fan here, Always shot model 12, 120 or 1300,2200 Now looking for a new shot gun for duck, turkey and maybe even deer, I only have my model 12's now. Always liked the barrel availability and ease of interchangeable parts on the old winchesters, But times have changed, And im looking currently looking at the Benelli Super Nova, Anybody have any thought or recommendations?

I really like my Super Nova. My first one lasted 21 shells before the forend/slider broke in half. It was replaced by the store as I only owned it for a week and I've put over 1000 shells in the replacement with no problems. I should mention that I haven't had a jam or failure to eject a shell, misfire, etc..

Occasionally the Benelli click can be annoying but you get used to it. The fact that Benelli barrels are over $400 can also be a drag, but if you're not needing other barrels then that shouldn't be an issue.

I dont have much experience with the Super Nova, but I cant say enough good things about my Nova. Never misfires, or fails to eject even with those crappy Canadian tire loads. Before buying it I used dads 870 and there really is no comparison for me. A lot lighter and more comfortable.

But if your looking to switch out parts/barrels you might want to go a different route lol

Guess i'll look a little harder at the new Winchester's (cringe) as i picked up a mossberg 500 and got a rash, man it felt cheap, probably just me being used to the older war horses, I'll keep looking!;)

Super Nova is a great pump, I honestly couldnt tell a whole lot difference with the comfortech stock for the extra $130, I bought it because I liked the way it looked in the max 4 camo. When I moved to an after market choke tube though, this gun turned into a great shooter.

I would pick up the nova or super nova then pick up the other gun, they will both feel different, go with the one that fits you best!!!

Super Nova's are great. The big difference over the plain Nova is that you can shim the stock to fit you (this *is* a big deal). I have the comfortech and love it. It has proven very reliable over the years, having taken upland game, geese, ducks, and even a deer (rifled slugs through the smooth barrel w/ IC choke installed). In addition to being a good hunting shotgun, I also do a fair bit of trap and sporting clays with it.

I consider it my do-all "pickup truck" of shotguns :) I will likely never sell mine.

I just picked one up new for $425. Its very comfortable, good fit and feeling. The recoil is super soft compared to my 870 due to the mercury (yikes lol) tube in the stock.

It has become my favourite shotgun

Hey,

Thinking of picking up a super nova tactical with the pistol grip and collapsing stock. I am under the impression this gun can shoot slugs right out of the box???: ar15:

Here is the link to the gun:

I dont think you need to buy anything... however i may be wrong, this is of course my first post!

I am really enjoying my supernova. It's a bit more than some other guns, but it comes with 3 chokes and a shim kit to adjust the fit. I can get 6" groups at 50yds with Cdn Tire slugs in the 28" smooth bore, so I don't need to get the $400 barrel. It's light for a clays gun, but the length of the barrel seems to make it swing well. I got my gun early this summer and I've shot trap, skeet, and paper with it. Over 1000 rounds so far.

The 3.5" "super magnum" chamber takes a bit more to cycle the pump than some guns and that, plus mostly my inexperience, caused a couple "failure to feeds" on some of the birds in double trap the first few rounds I shot.

Overall I highly recommend this gun, great bang for buck.

Id say I have to same experience as Strike89 up there. That might have something to do with the fact that we shoot together every weekend. And we both got stinking good deals on our Novas. I paid 400 bucks shipped for my Nova. It has 300-400 rounds through it. No scratches or anything. It was in perfect shape, a deal like that doesnt present itself often. Ive looked into the Supernovas a little bit, a friend of mine just bought one. They look a little different then the Novas with the trigger guard and they have a cooler looking stock I think but for the money he paid for it Im quite content my Nova. Keep your eye on EE they always come up but they generally dont stay for sale long.

I think you guy's have talked me into the Benelli, I like the Super Nova, All the info and videos i looked at rank it pretty high on the dependability end of things as well as just an over great shooter.
