I’d like to do a +1 mag extension for my 14” supernova. I’m hoping the mag tube won’t stick out past the barrel much. Has anyone else here done this mod, and how did it turn out?

I’m also wanting to add a side saddle. From what I’ve seen Mesa is the only decent option for these shotguns. But they’re a bit Spendy. Is there any other options or should I just get the Mesa?

I've used velcro-attached shotshell cards for years now and would never go back to a bolt-on rigid version. The cards will allow you to carry many shells, including if you like those of different sorts, that can be slapped on the gun almost in an instant and if you have military style tacos for rifle magazines, those will accommodate the cards as well. For best velcro security for the big patch on your gun, get one of the industrial versions at Home Depot or similar places, although I know pros who use dollar store versions on their home guns.

I use the velcro shell carrier on my 500. But I have my doubts of how well it’ll stick the curved receiver on a Supernova. I think I’ll just have to get the Mesa for it.

So has anyone tried a +1 extension on the 14” supernova.

Had a Supernova 14" a few years back, a +1 extension for Benelli fit nicely...

No worries. I don’t suppose if you remember if it sticked out past the barrel?

With the S&J +1, it’s about 1/2” past the muzzle. I recently got a Mcarbo bayonet spike (for a KSG originally) on EE and am going to modify the +1 to install it.

I’d also consider to get the S&J follower (type 6 I believe), I got the GG&G follower several years ago because there wasn’t a suitable S&J version at the time, but am thinking of getting one now and selling the GG&G.

For the Mesa tactical side saddle, the forend overlaps the receiver, so the slight offset is important to prevent short stroke cycling. If you can be disciplined you can probably just affix a card to the receiver in the correct spot, that could work too I suppose. The +4 shotgun cards fit on the stock too.

Yeah, I just measured it earlier tonight. S&J +1 extension is 2.25” long and it’s 1.75” from the barrel lug to the muzzle so 1/2” past is bang on. I’m going to order mine up here soon.

I don’t suppose you can post a pic? I’m curious how it looks with the +1 extension.

FOC has the +1 and a sale at the moment. Could grab some ammo and maybe get the free shipping threshold.

I was suprised to see how much the Mesa Tactical side saddle is now

Yeah, it’s pretty expensive for what it is.
I think I’m just going to do the S&J velcro side saddle for now. Mostly because I can’t find the Mesa 6 shell carrier in stock anywhere
I think I’m going to order from hical though. Items coming from BC tend to make it to me in a day or two vs a week if I order from Ontario.
