Benelli SuperNova 14"

Thanks for the excellent write-up, brother!!! I'm actively seeking one of these right now, but can't seem to find one for under $800. Who's got the best price right now???????

Paul

hmm prices well thats a brain scratcher there thats for sure, my guy came to about 815$ total from JoBrooks out in Brandon last winter, I dont know if the prices have changed much since then, Ive seen them at Wholesale Sports, and Cabelas, but didnt get a chance to see a pricetag...

I would think under $800 (total taxes in and whatnot) would be very hard to find, but not impossible, but in the $800-ish range Id justify it, but nothing over $875 thats for sure...

Happy hunting, and trust me when you do find one, youll never regret it!!! :D

Thank you sir!
I have found one at WSS for $779.00

When I get back home, it's sitting in the safe, still in the box, range review to follow in 2 weeks when the snow hits?

Let my cousin shoot the Nova, and his exposure to firearms is nothing, he even liked the little fire breather!

Images were taken with my JUNK standard definition camera, I believe at 24frames per second, and that cameras been through alot... (ie. 50BMG blowback gasses/getting launched off the table afterwards :D)

Like all shortbarreled shotguns cameras make a heck of a difference when it comes to fireball capturing, if I had a massive chunk of change Id LOVE to get a dedicated highspeed camera, cause theres just so much you miss at normal speed thats for sure... ;)

Holy bison! Or cow, whatever you prefer.

That's one impressive fireball. Oh I forgot to ask from a cleaning & operation view,

1. how do you clean & lube these fire breathing benelli dragons? I am asking since what I read, the bore is Crome lined? Does this matter in the grand scheme of things? If so, what are you using product wise?

The bore doesnt generally play a major role for shotguns as far as maintenance/cleaning, they fall under the same cleaning guidelines as all shotguns, (still the same practises through for all firearms, from the chamber to muzzle always when swabbing), and for cleaning procedure, I usually pop the barrel off and give it a good couple clean swabs till shes nice and shiny, generally I never get to have mine at the range enough to justify a complete 100% teardown, but Id like to get that happening every 2-3 months, (yes I know, I get out to the range only a couple times in those months :D)

For oils, I use a trigger oil made by KG Industries, we use it at the shop and it works wonders, Ive actually been using just plain jane Rem Oil on the Nova and she seems to take to it quite well actually.

Areas to oil, would be a few drops on the action arms where they mate into the receiver, your bolt head, if you pop the pins out and give the trigger assembly a few drops on the major pivot areas etc. (like most other shotguns/firearms for that matter)

I just bought one of these a few weeks ago. One question I have is how do you remove the stock and pistol grip? I would like to remove and clean the trigger assembly, and I read in the manual that you have to remove the stock and pistol grip in order to do this. The problem is that the manual doesn't say how.

Ok thanks. Thats what I figured I just wanted to make sure before I started wrenching on it.

Has anyone put a recoil pad on? And if so what brand and size are you running?
