So I have a used 28" Supernova on the way. Was going to run my Winchester SXP Defender for 3-Gun this year but as it turns out I wasn't able to fit a mag extension on it and I would really like more capacity. Thinking about going with a Nordic Components +6 for a total capacity of 10+1. I'm told by Casey at TacOrd that this should make the magazine tube about a 1/2" shorter than the barrel. Will this make the shotgun too front heavy? And would you recommend getting the magazine clamp as well?

Will this make the shotgun too front heavy?

No. It will be absolutely fine. It's actually a very popular set-up.

And would you recommend getting the magazine clamp as well?

I had trouble with my Nordic Clamp putting torque on the barrel, and causing POI to shift badly.

I replaced it with a Taccom Clamp, which works much better. No torque on the barrel.

So the series here this year will use 3-Gun Nation rules. I can start with no more than 9 rounds in the shotgun. Would you suggest getting a +4 and no magazine clamp or the +6 with magazine clamp and then starting a stage with 9 in the gun and immediately loading 2 more?

My recommendation is to get the +6 Nordic extension, and the Taccom support clamp.

10+1 is a good capacity to have.

As you've already mentioned; It opens up the option of loading right at the buzzer.
It also gives you a lot more options for loading rounds while moving between shooting positions.

And it's still shorter than your barrel, so there's no downside in terms of maneuverability.

The Taccom clamp is a good idea on any magazine extension. It will allow a bit of flex, but won't allow your extension to get snapped off.
Take a look as the threads where your extension attaches to the factory tube. Look at how thin the material is in those threads.

Now ask yourself how difficult it would be to snap that piece right off, if you accidentally hit a barricade with your mag-tube.

Why do you want a support clamp?

A +6 extension is 18" long. That's a ton of leverage against a very thin walled thread.

The threads on the end of the factory tube will break off very easily, if you hit the end of a long extension tube sideways.

The other benefit is it stops the extension from turning and coming loose from recoil.

Website says NO, taccom does not ship the clamp to Canada... domestic only

Must be a new policy.

I ordered a mag-clamp and a match-saver from them last year. No problems with shipping.

I won't deal with Cactus Tactical again. Bought something from them through Amazon that went missing during shipping. They agreed to refund me "as a show of goodwill" but only refunded me the purchase price of the item and not the shipping cost. I am in the process of filing a claim with Amazon.
