I was wondering what experience users have had with this shotgun, especially the 14" tactical in regards to accuracy, since for some unknown reason I am a bit skeptical in regards to some of the claims made for accuracy in shooting slugs at considerable distances.
One feature that I like about the Supernova is the mag cutoff, which I think is a useful feature if you decide to use a different type of shell, like a less lethal or bird shot when loaded with buck shot or slugs, also has anyone tried the Aguilla mini shells with the Beneilli Supernova's

Good
- Well built
- Nice telescopic stock and pistol grip
- Great safety location
- Shell lifter stays up while loading
- Nice sights
- 3 1/2" chamber
- Forend has plenty of hand space
- Over size trigger guard

Bad
-Almost not light mount options
-Poor sling options
-Forend is slippery and your stuck with it

Ugly
-No choke and it appears Benelli just chopped down a 18.5" barrel at the factory

The magazine capacity is specified as four in the mag tube with one loaded, however I expect that the four is only for shells of two and three quarter inches and not three and half inches. I have also come to understand why this shotgun has a high price, basically because of its name, since nova means new and then it also has the words super and tactical, so its a triple whammy from a marketing point of view!:)

Pros:
3.5" chamber and easy to load through the port
Ejector is strong and throws empty hulls positively
Few parts: bolt and bolt slide are one piece. trigger assembly contains shell stops
Long fore-end is thick at the rear and thin at front for various grips. Long forend also covers the action bars and protects them vs 870/500
Chrome-lined bores
Magazine Cutoff
No tool takedown
Very smooth loading into the magazine
Rotating bolt is strong, fast, smooth
Tight fit between receiver and barrel, better accuracy for slugs
Fit and finish better than Express/500, but less than Wingmaster, ithaca, Winchester M12.
It's good for waterfowl hunting so it'll do well in the elements.

Cons
My Nova 28" is 8lbs, but that's perfect for waterfowling. Upland is too heavy.
Does not swing or feel as lively as a Win M12, Ithaca 37, or Wingmaster.

Dsiwy and mosinmaster are bang on.

Bought one 5 years ago as my 3Gun shotgun. Added a mag extension to it (S&J Hardware - a great vendor on this forum) and could fit 7 shells in. Loved it, was perfect for me (weight, length, action, etc).

Because chambered in 3.5, bought an additional 24" barrel threaded for chokes and it also became my turkey gun! And a quite successful one too!!
Warning: 3.5 shells, turkey loads and turkey choke is brutal with that light shotgun...

Sold it last year to finance the bigger brother M4. Love the M4 but I now regret selling pump tactical SuperNova, should have kept it.

Accuracy: 14" smooth bore & slug... not the recipe for 1/2" groups at 100 yards... Mine had an EOTech 512 mounted on. Best I could achieve was 4" groups at 50 yards, rifled slugs & bench rested.

First thank every one for there observations on the Benelli Supernova tactical with a 14" barrel. I ended up buying one from Prairie Gun Traders who I have always found very good to deal with. One thing I was surprised about when I got it was its weight, since it weighs 7.3 lbs compared to a Mossberg 590A1 which has a very heavy 18" barrel and weighs just over 7 lbs. Also I like that the shell lifter stays out the way when loading it, the same as the Mossberg which I previously had and which I replaced with the Supernova. As has been mentioned in the comments the Supernova is a very well made gun and is quite robust!

Pretty much covers it. Also very minimium after market parts so youa re stuck with OEM. And yes, the foreend is rather slippery.
Apart from that, very well build gun though.
