Who is using one of these & how do you like em? How do they perform with light loads in either gauge? I'm thinking of getting one to have as an ultralight grouse gun. Without trying to offend, I'm not interested in hearing other suggestions -- just the Benelli because they fit me so well.:D

What is the difference between the UL and the monty??? as far as action etc.
I have shot a 20ga Monty ??? a few times but no UL.

I have had my Ultralight for over 3 years now. I can say that I am very happy with this shotgun. It points, carries and functions flawlessly. You will find that Benellis generally work better the lighter they are, this is the inertia factor. My 12ga Ultralight cycles 7/8 oz loads with ease and I have never had a hiccup with any brand of ammo, honestly. Mine has the 24 inch barrel and I feel this is the right size as the gun is still longer than a comparable pump or O/U. My go to load for both grouse and sporting clays is a 1oz Challenger light load with 7.5 shot.

I have other upland guns, but for long walks this gun is my favourite. I was close to selling a few months back, but I had a magical day in November with one of my buddies and decided then to keep this gun for good. Picture below is from that day,

Cheers,

Patrick

The actions are the same in both. The UL has a shortened mag tube, and a carbon fibre rib. I also believe the stocks are a slimmer, smaller profile.

Thanks Patrick. I know I loved hunting with the 20ga Monte, cycled all loads no issues at all right to 1oz. Those I do have to say I felt the recoil but not bad.
The monte was so light and quick handling I cannot imagine how the UL must feel. Sounds like a winner for sure. Take care
