I always see this in picture and it confuses me. I dont know what to properly search to find out why, but Im confused.

Everytime I see pictures of a pistol with its slide pulled back, the barrel looks like it bends upwards.

Such as:

It makes it a bit "easier" for the next round to load into the chamber.......;)

And it allows the barrel to unlock from the slide.

Lyth,

If you've only seen pictures it's a valid question and there's no shame in asking questions.

Welcome to CGN...... Now get out there and buy a pistol!

Thanks for the info guys (and thanks for the welcome :) ).

I honestly didn't know this. And finally now I know. No more being like "wtf? Are my eyes correct? Is that bent?!".

There is no shame, but we will ridicule. Most of us asked similar questions at some time, just laugh along with us.:)

*looks at self in mirror* ahahahhaahaha ;)

Hey I didn't mean to jump on the OP. I'm on my BLackBerry and can't see post count or join date.

OP it is about the style of the action in the pistol that determines such things.

There are fixed barrels as mentioned above and even 1911's and copies don't give the same appearance.

Best thing you can do is get your PAL and then hit a gun store to play with them all!

Cheers
Mark

I didn't know this either, that's why I hang around CGN :D

sometimes bent guns are also just optical illusions.
