Bent sks barrel

Man, SKSs are not worth the $$ to risk shooting something like that. Try to get your money back, but even if you can't, just get a new one.

Don't be ridiculous.

I've seen several sks rifles from different manufacturers (not Yugo) that had offset sights, out of index positioning, which makes gas tubes look twisted and with slight warps/bends.

Indexing can be a bit difficult to fix and if the barrel is pressed into the receiver, likely not worth doing, unless you can do it yourself and have the proper tooling for the job. Threaded bbls and receivers are worth it IMHO.

OP, from your photos, it's hard to see what's really wrong. If it's twisted, continue to shoot it and enjoy. No safety issues to worry about.

If it's bent or warped, take it to someone with a hydraulic press and apply pressure at the proper points, until it looks good to the naked eye.

We aren't talking about a precision instrument here. In the case of an SKS, close enough works fine.

OP, I seriously doubt MOST SKS shooters have shot their rifles out beyond 50 meters. YES, the very odd individual does.

/\ /\ THIS

I have seen people using an arbor press and a few blocks of wood to provide specific points of pressure to the barrel adjust the point of aim on some old revolvers with fixed sights.
So they could hit what they were being aimed at.
The method should hold true for longer barrels as well.

I have seen many pistol elevation adjusted by barrel bending. But in a proper armory. If the rifle is 3-4 moa, it is doubtful the time/cost will be worthwhile to chase for this gun. But that’s what many hobbies are so it may be interesting.
