Until proven other wise. Get firearm insurance and use them!! Just my opinion. The law is far too grey and is why you need to protect yourself and have insurance and live your life.
To the guys saying to just use them and stop being a puss, how about you show us what a man you are and walk into the local RCMP with a couple Beo mags and tell them that you use these regularly and fill them to 14 or 15 rounds? Or use them at the range when the RCMP are there practicing?.
Having insurance does NOT mean you won't be drug through the same process as the poor smuck who doesn't have it.
Insurance "may" help with the costs of the process but your life will be disrupted just the same. Insurance isn't something that will let you live your life as if nothing bad is happening to you.
Having insurance doesn't guarantee that the process will be all rainbows and pots of gold.
Apparently you've never had to deal with insurance companies and court processes. You make it sound like a walk in the park.
There were LE and RCMP there. In fact, one of the assistant instructors was RCMP. He had zero issues with the guys running Beus.
But this may be an individual gun savvy officer who personally decided the mag issue is a paper crime and not worth his time.

That's right, you're a puss as well and just like to talk tough on the internet.
To me, it's not worth the risk of losing my guns, job, and spending thousands of dollars in court trying to stay out of jail just to be able to stick 4 more rounds in a magazine.
I mention losing my job as well because it's pretty hard to keep your job when you're behind bars awaiting your court date. Firearms offences are not taken lightly and I am not willing to risk being drug through the courts at my expense.
Even if you were to win in court you will have spent thousands on a lawyer which you won't get back.

There is a difference between officers at the range shooting on their own time while it is open to the public and those that are tasked with attending the range for enforcement purposes
sure, but their is a distinct mentality difference between those that shoot at a range while it is open to the public and those that do not is what I was getting at. Let alone when a superior sends them to the range in an enforcement capacityThey are still an officer of the law whether on duty or not and can easily call in a buddy who is on duty if they don't feel like dealing with it in their off duty time.
Good lord, here comes another 18 pages of #### measuring, chest beating on the legalities of these mags...

According to our current government, the RCMP is the only entity tasked with deciding gun legalities in canada. If you end up going to court for this, who can you call on as an expert that will carry that same weight in court?
FYI an individual had his beowulf mags seized and he was charged. Neither the CSSA or any of the other orgs offered the individual any help. likely due to legal costs he took a deal instead of going to court.
never said there was.The prohibited device charge was dropped in exchange for surrendering the Beo mags - so there is still no precedent established for "dual use" magazines.
Boy, you've really got your dancing shoes on, don't you.never said there was.
