beo mags, yes beo mags, what's going on?

If you'd bother to read my posts I shoot with the RCMP here all the time, with my 5 rnd Beowulf mags holding 15 rnds of .223.

And yes, those are just "comments" in the firearms reference table. Without a change of law it means nothing.

Your shooting buddies are not the ones you need to worry about.

Are there any .50 Beowulf mags made here in Canada from the ground up as 5 round Beowulf mags?

I see the point of just slapping a label on an AR mag and calling it a Beowulf mag being a slippery slope but if a mag is from the start designed for and made for the .50 how is a capacity of 2 legal... Don't recall ever seeing a mag capacity of 2 in any law or publication...

^^
I agree with you...

Out of curiosity does anyone have a link to the old info on mags, capacity, etc? Maybe a link to the actual criminal code so I can print it off, laminate it, and carry it with me when out on crown land.

Only place I have seen them available and imported since the FRT entry and CBSA required them pinned to two is https://northernrepublicmagazine.co...eowulf-magazine-5-10-rounds?variant=289854156

Wolverine is the Canadian importer for Alexander arms, I contacted them after the FRT was written to order magazines. I was told they had them on order but have not heard they arrived or seen any for sale on their website.

-they would have to make law abiding purchasers aware of the change IN WRITING because very few owners have internet nor are expected to frequent these forums or visit the RCMP website ever in their lifetime, the onus is on the law maker to notify citizens of any changes to the law
-explain the change in the law (which there was none in either case) and the coming into force date, again non-existent
-provide a buy back mechanism for reasonable compensation of forfeiture of otherwise legal property considering in both the .50 Beowulf and 10/22 magazines cases they were obtained legally and in good faith from legitimate businesses
no they do not have to notify you. Under the long gun registry the classification of one of my shotguns went from NR to Restricted and I was never notified, nor was I sent a new registration certificate showing the new correct status. Only reason I knew was from the manufacturer calling and cautioning me which they were not required to do either.

The mags we are all debating are exactly what you speak of... although not produced in Canada they are imported.

Alexander Arms made the .50 Beowulf mags from the ground up specifically for their .50 Beowulf upper.

The follower is different, the angle is different and the feed lips are different. They are specifically designed for the .50 Beowulf rifle alone. They are designed to feed .50 Beowulf ammunition and that calibre alone... they are NOT .556 magazines in any way shape or form.

Therefore it is a .50 Beowulf magazine and our laws dictate it is to be limited to no more than 5 rounds of the .50 Beowulf cartridge.

The law is clear and has NOT changed.

The sheelple of Canada just believe anything their master's tell them, sadly that has not changed either. Pics below are magazines I have owned over the years since they were first approved for import by the RCMP, imported into Canada and sold in brick and mortar retail shops across Canada.

I have 3 of those exact same mags, they weren't cheap!.....Thanks for the info as far as I knew nothing had changed about them since I bought them

Never go to a special builtin, PDF, pamphlet or anything else to understand a law as it is written... they are absolutely MEANINGLESS!

You MUST go directly to the law itself, you want part 4 of SOR/98-462

Where do you get the Beo dummy rounds?

EDIT may have found them myself GSdesigns?
