Beowulf 50 applications?

I think it could kill a bear... We've gone way off topic, but who cares! For anyone who hasn't shot a Beowulf AR, you're missing out!!!

I'd be into a 50 Beowulf or 450 Bushmaster in my XCR-L if it would only fit unfortunately the ejection port of an XCR-L is to small for the brass to eject.

As to you guys spewing against this round for bear defense I would use it in a heartbeat if it was in any way possible to do.

I know... I know... holy thread revival...

It is always a pleaser at the range. A 450gr flat nosed lead slug out of a light semi auto? If the results of that doesn't give you a jaw open smile, then you must already own a .50 Browning lol

My personal defense rifle for this coming year is a stainless steel rynite stocked 14" barreled single shot T/C Contender carbine in 45-70 loaded with either 350gr or 430gr hard cast WFNGC's AOL is 29" weighs appr 5 lbs.

To have 5 50 cal in a semi auto would be awesome.

Rangers take out polar bears with one shot of 55gr FMJ applied between the eyes with their bolt action 223's. I'm sure you won't have trouble with a 223 and a beowulf mag against local bears.

Killing a polar bear at a distance, and killing a charging bear at 5 yards are two very different things. Saying that a 55gr FMJ is a good round for protection is downright irresponsible.

EDIT - Just saw how old this post it.

OP was asking what takes the mags, not what can actually fire .50beo.

I hear they are a tight fit in the t97, they don't drop free at all, you have to pull them out

My plastic ones are a little snug and don't drop free. Apparently the really expensive metal 5/10 metal beowulf 50 mags work perfect. But 85$ for a mag... Ehhh

I was hoping someone could let me know what NR rifles in 223 will accept the Beowulf 50 mag? I'm looking for a new toy but don't want to be restricted to going to the range only. I've also heard rumor that there's a chance that the AR platform might become NR, I don't really see that happening but was curious of what you guys think.

Thx

Would work well in my tavor! boom! But unfortunately i doubt a barrel would ever exist.
I don't know where you hear these rumours but I doubt ill see the AR ever become NR in Canada in my lifetime, Im 37.
Youre better off edging your bet with an ATR modern hunter in a big calibre commonly available, like a 308.

I have .50 beowolf mags in my T97 and they drop free just fine. However I needed to do some slight filing to my magwell as they do initially fit tight. I would post pics if I knew how to ...LOL
