Berdan primed 308 brass

Is there any sort or market for this at all? is the brass alone worth anything at a scrap metal yard? its all nato less that 4 years old. i have hundreds of this useless stuff. If somone could use it I would just give it to them. with ammo links if they like.

I see Berdan primed .308 all over here too. Used to pick it up, realized its not good for much more than the scrap yard. And that's too much work.

I could never find a practical way of de-capping them, so I just toss them. I figured I could put a flash hole in the middle and use them loaded soft in a Norinco, but too much time for too little gain.

Berdan primed brass makes good drawer pulls. Then pitch the rest. Selling 'em for scrap won't get you enough to pay for the gas to get there. Takes a whole lot of brass before it's worth the drive.
The link is a different thing. Still isn't worth a great deal, but a guy with a semi-auto M1919, etc. would be interested.

I got $1.45@lb that last brass I took in. I had 2x5gal pails of it. Wanna guess how much those 2 pails weighed? MORE that enough to fill your tank......

Gee, here it's over 2 bucks a pound for yellow brass.

A shoe box full of brass gets you about $50 bucks, tax free.

Got the price list in front of me, for May 26th 2011:

Yellow brass $2.15 a lbs.

But what you really want to have lots of is barebright copper at $3.70 a lbs.

I have about 2200lbs sitting on the floor in my shop. I have another 3500-4000lbs of cable coming in on a backhaul tomorrow.

Nah, scrap metal really isn't worth your time or gas......

i pick up everything .22lr and even the steel case stuff

mainly becuse i'll find a use for it once i get my smelter back up and running

save it up and when you have a few bucket's full bring it in

keep all reloadable stuff and keep all odd ball/hard to find cal's and sell them or reload them your self (in the hard to find and odd ball some times it's worth the time to convert the brass from berdan to boxer)

theres a few vid's up on youtube about depriming berdan brass take a look

all brass is reloadable but berdan primers are a little harder to get
