After stumbling upon a bunch of berdan-primed brass I wonder if it's possible to get berdan primers for a decent price anywhere? I searched the forums to no avail. Google was no help either.
Budget Shooter Supply used to carry them. RCBS makes a nifty decapping tool too!
I find the RCBS tool does not work well depriming Rimmed Berdan Primed Cartridges though...
Good luck!
I guess. The berdan-primed brass has a noticeably bigger primer pocket than regular brass and so far its #####y to resize at best. Unless a new source for cheap berdan magically comes to light my better option is probably to buy new brass. Thanks!Isn't worth the bother. There are very few cases you can't get with Boxer priming. Make some drawer pulls and pitch the rest.
Last I looked, not recently, RWS is the only maker, I think. No such thing as a decent price either. Plus you need the right diameter. Berdan primers aren't like Boxer primers' standard diameters.
"...convert the brass to boxer primed..." That is Bubba at his finest. It doesn't work. The flash hole ends up being too big.
"...shotgun primers in Berdan..." No they didn't. Won't fit and won't work. In a Berdan primer, the anvil is part of the case and every Berdan primer is a different diameter that isn't even close to a shotgun primer.
