Beretta 1301 Comp Gen 2 Upgrades?

I don’t think it’s left the safe in over 2 years and I haven’t shot it seriously since that match. I picked up a Nova Speed last year. Honestly if IPSC shotgun took off in this country I’d either shoot that in standard manual or something with 10 round AS46 mags in open since I’d rather not have to deal with this whole “grey area” of what’s legal or not
Indeed, the only possible advantage is that the 3.5" guns have a larger loading port (which explains perfectly why the 1301 Pro Comp has a 3.5" receiver but is a 3" gun).
Nice shooting, suspect we will all be shooting a lot more shotgun this year after the news today.
Still debating whether to give my trusty old Versamax a makeover or pick up a new gun (currently going through the gas vs inertia debate with myself)

One choke is plus 2" modified thinking for long shot hand thrown clay pigeons.
I thought all I'd need was the gun having a mag tube. Rifles you need mags and optics. Here it's chokes, cards, a light, and possibly optics... have to have all the accoutrements

Still debating the 1301 Comp Pro.
Would love a new shotgun but the Liberals impending bans (which seems to be anti semi auto anything) makes me hesitant (my guns are for shooting - not sitting in safes waiting on a "buyback" or some other h0rsesh1t) and the grey area around legal capacity for 3" guns makes me hesitant.
For IPSC the legal start limit for Standard is 9 and this works well as two quad loads will refill the gun should it run empty during a stage. One round less (ie 6 in the mag for a total of 8 from the start) doesn't allow for this and puts me off to the point that I am considering a 3.5" gun but that comes with a much longer barrel (which is not ideal for IPSC type games which often happen in tight-ish courses of fire).
Anyways, back to the 1301 - does anyone know if there are aftermarket trigger options for 1301 (or indeed any shotguns for that matter)? I do like a nice trigger but it seems options are limited for shotguns to lighter springs etc.
Ideally something lighter with a flat face but that might be hoping for too much......

If the barrel on yours is to long Casey at Tacord can shorten it and rethread it for chokes. Tacord can give the versamax a complete makeover at the same time.
It’s softer shooting than a 1301 comp pro as an added bonus.
The barrel on my Versamax is fine (only a 21").
With regard to reliability that the weird thing, my Versamax has started to play up. I did reach out to Casey and might send him my gun but I have already replaced a bunch of things I figured might help (action spring / extractor / ejector). It has been stripped and cleaned to the point that it could pass for new but it still plays up intermittently which is frustrating.
When I was considering going another direction (Maxus / A400 etc) and getting a new 3.5" gun that would get me away from the whole capacity grey area I reached out to Casey to see if he would trim the barrel to something shorter (like 21" for example) and rethread for chokes and he said he couldn't.
So I:
1) Keep my Versamax and get the reliability thing figured out (at the point sending it to TacOrd is the only option left but as the issues are sporadic they may come back and tell me it is fine which would be my worst fear as I know it doesn't run like it used to and that would be a giant waste of time and money)
2) Pick up a 1301 Pro Comp and play the grey area capacity game
3) Get a full size 3.5" Maxus or A400 and deal with the 28" or 30" barrel.
I am signed up for a couple of matches in a few weeks so I will probably run it there and decide what happens. Fingers crossed it runs like a champ and doesn't make me regret my decision.
I am also loathe to pick up any more semi autos with the Libtards at the controls. Particularly so with an election on the horizon, guns are generally a great punch bag for these muppets to preach their greatness to their legion of brain dead supporters so more bans of "scary" guns would not surprise me.
The most recent version of the Comp has a deeper cut loading gate and a non-forked lifter. The serial number got moved closer to the trigger to make room for the enlarged load gate.
The Pro model has the new bolt release button and the loading gate stays up for easier loading, plus the Kick off stock, but your stuck with the blue receiver.

Isn't the Kickoff stock standard? Or did you add it / swap it out?
From what I have read there are several versions with differing levels of recoil mitigation.
From memory the 1301 Pro Comp is 40% reduction but there is another version on the 3.5" guns that results in a 70% reduction in recoil (makes sense that it is on the 3.5" gun but in my mind wouldn't it also make 2 3/4" shells shoot softer?)
The Pro comes with the kickoff stock. I made a Pro out of a regular Comp as I didn't want a blue receiver. Cost more than a Pro, but is all black. The Pro & Comp models both use the 3.5" receiver to get the bigger loading port, but only have 3" barrels.
