My understanding is that the tactical is shipped with improved cylinder but when I took it out to clean it say cylinder. Am I missing anything here lol.

They are usually advertised as coming with a cylinder bore, and come with the flush mounted Optima HP cylinder choke tube, same as yours (and mine). I have seen some of the US made 1301's that sell with 3 tubes (Cyl, mod, full) I believe.

Our 1301's come to us through Stoeger who in turn, import them from Beretta Italy.

The Comp Pro is the best value of the 3 models. KickOff stock, 3 extended "Black" chokes, all the updates with the exception of the flat trigger. That blue receiver is hard to like though.

Is this really the case with the 1301 according to Stoeger Canada?

Additionally, rifled or sabot slugs should not be used in a factory made choke tube with a constriction tighter than Improved Cylinder.

Are they just being too overly cautious?

They are not. These tubes are a few thou tighter than others in the same designation.

Having said that, I shoot rifled slugs through a modified Optima HP choke tube and all seems fine. No difference in accuracy between a slug through it and one through a cylinder bore one.

The same result of course doesn't hold true with buck shot. So, it'f you're wanting to shoot both loads on the fly, a compromise has to be found somewhere. For me, that's a mod choke.

The M4 is a heavy pig compared to a 1301T. My son in Law bought a new M4. It won’t cycle challenger target loads. The 1301 T eats anything.
The boy must have a dud mine will shoot anything Challenger target to high brass 00 Buck no hiccups. I have shot the 1301 my wife has one, its ok but feels cheaper imo.

Cool story, let me know when your M4 does this,🥴

Why would I need it to do that......im not in a war zone or need it fold up. If you want to pretending to soldier good on you.
My M4 is for hunting and target practice.
However, if the 1301 is sooooo amazing why hasn't ANY military around the world adopted it.

The 1301 is a great shotgun no doubt about it but an M4 killer it is not.Screenshot_20250824_135732_Gallery.jpg
