I just got a new beretta 1301 tactical I was sure I was getting a gen2 with the removable chokes and the new bolt release button well it came with the new bolt release button but no removable chokes, anybody know if a gunsmith can do the works to install removable chokes on my 1301 or they will not touch it because of the crome lining in the barrel, thanks.

It should have a choke installed, i just picked a gen 2 comp up and did not notice extra chokes to my disappointment.

TacOrd can and will do it. They aren't set up for Beretta chokes but they have other options.

If your barrel is thick enough, you can thread them for almost anything.

TacOrd would probably thread them for Rem chokes. A little cheaper and easier to find in stock than Optima HP chokes.

I had my 590A1 threaded by TacOrd and they did an awesome job as to be expected.

sorry in reality i had lot of work done by Casey at Tac Ord---and i don't think you can put in a choke modification in this barrel due to the chroming. As well as porting cant be done also in the possibility of the chrome chipping. In my opinion a choke on a tactical shot gun is nothing more than a pain the the arse--have them on benellis and fabarms-never change them just a pita to clean--just my 2 cents---choke or no choke is not a deal breaker for a tactical shotty.Cheers bro

I like removable chokes on a tactical shotgun as it allows you to stick a tight choke on there and get pattern sizes out of bulk birdshot that approximate those of my chosen buckshot loads.

Its nice to be able to practice at 9mm bulk FMJ prices instead of .308 or premium 5.56 prices.

Other than that though, I'd rather have a fixed choke.
