Hi All

I purchased a used 12 gauge 302 that has the old slide in choke tubes then held in place with a outside threaded ring.

Does any one know of a place I could purchase more tubes or one that could handle steel shot?

The other option is to purchase a new barrel that take modern choke tubes.

Thanks
Grant

If you have a Mod. Choke you should be good to go for steel. Check your barrel though it will be either 2 3/4's or 3". They are great guns have fun with it.

I have shot the Mod with some #1 Kent fast-steel and it has caused the choke to become what one would call improved cylinder. Trulock recommended that I use only smaller shot size and slower speed.
Love the gun but it would be nice to have a few geese in the freezer too.

They are called mobile chokes not likely choke manufactures will have any they are a different system no threads held in place with a retainer ring they were short lived item only 3or 4 yrs.

I've got a 302 with the mobile chokes as well. I bought an extended full choke trap tube several years ago from Western Gun Parts in Edmonton. It sticks out about 3" from the barrel end and throws beautiful patterns. They also had the usual factory choke tubes in stock. I have the owner's manual in the box at home. I'm pretty sure it mentioned steel shot, but I don't recall what it said about running it through those tubes. I'm on the road and will check when I get home.
