beretta 391 jamming HELP :(

Hey Guys

I bough myself a new beretta 391 urika in synthetic this spring...

the gun worked great, I put about 1000 trap rounds through it without a hitch. Now that duck season is well underway I have been out the last 2 times in wet weather and it has been jamming. I cleaned it compleatly with break free and lubed it up well and today it did it again....about 15 shots into the morning and the bolt is not moving all the way forward...the bolt is amost closed but the cocking handle is not forward, and I have to hammer it closed with the bone in my palm with quite a bit of force. With no shells in it it seems to cycle fine.

I have been shooting winchester faststeel 1550 fps #2 3" loads. I had no problems earlier with it but now that its wet out i dunno. I shot mabey 200 rounds with no prob before, and now WTF???!!!??


The other thing that I noticed is that when I take the gun down in the field is that the piston is really stuck in the magazine tube end cap in that little groove and it is caked full of deposits. Its suprising because i just cleaned it like 20 rounds earlier

Any one have any thoughts PLEASE??!!?!!?
HELP !!!! I love this gun but this just sucks I bought it because it was supposed to be one of the most reliable guns. :(

Oh yeah I even checked to see if it was the famous bent carrier but its tru as it can be.

If you're shooting the gun "wet" (lots of CLP inside, but not TOO much), sounds like its gotta be "dirty" ammo... try changing brands, maybe the Kent or something.

I have thought of that and will try that next time out, but I still have to finish off all the winchester junk I have left.

the gun was not over oiled and since this didnt happen before I am thinking that it might be the rainy conditions but this still really sucks donkeys especially since this gun has such a good rep.

Any 391 that I've dealt with including mine prefers to be shot wet. Don't scrimp on the Break Free or whatever other lubricant you might have. A friend at the club was having trouble with his new 20 gauge 391 until we loaded the insides with Break Free and it worked fine.

I'd also agree with the advice to try different ammo. My gun is 100 percent reliable with everything except Federal Top Gun. No idea why but it just doesn't like that brand of ammo.

This is a problem with the loads, not the gun. Sell the left over shells off to your buddys, and get some new ones!

Too bad Winchester wasn't using Clays powder..:)
 
I think that you might be right...oh well I guess that crappy ammo will be food for my pump.

I do feel better now that I dont feel like I bought a lemon :dancingbanana: .....
