Beretta 680's

Look at the action and hinge.
Is there any wear, does it lock up tight?
At what angle does the barrel break sit at?
Is it in the 6o'clock position or slightly to the right?
Then again I am far from an expert, but those are some of the areas I
would be looking at .

Nothing special to look for. They are pretty much the same gun as the pre-Gold Beretta 682 and most of the parts will interchange.

One thing to be aware of is that the Beretta 680 and pre-Gold 682 were built on slightly wider frames than the 687 and 686. When Beretta introduced the 682 Gold they went to the same size frame as the rest of the series.

Recently-made barrels will fit the wider frame but will not match the sides of the frame precisely. It also may be an issue if you need a replacement stock. Beretta stocks are somewhat oversized to begin with and a new one should fit an older frame although not be as "proud" of the metal.
