I am interested in a beretta 682 in ex. cond. with fixed chokes. my question is. what would the cost, and who would rebuild the the lockup pins. I am trying to factor the cost into the purchase. the release lever is sitting at 6oclock still tight lockup though. thanks

That will depend on what "pins" are in it now. The actual part is called the locking latch. There are four different sizes, each progressively larger in diameter. You have to replace the latch, which is about $50 US and then the holes that are in the barrel have to be sized to match the "pins". If this gun has the largest latch in it, then you have to replace it with the small latch and weld up the barrel holes and then have them re-drilled. I would think $200 would be reasonable if you don't need the welding.

I see your from the lower mainland, and that being close to the Italians on Rupert St might be worthy of a phone call to.
I suggest them merely because that store has been around a very long time and they have sold many 682's and would think thye have a pretty good grasp on that situation.
But, alas they are not site sponsors and I hope I have not stepped on any toes for mentioning them.
