Hey everyone, I have been away form the shotgun sports for a few years, ever since my Weimaraners passed. I am a hunter-mainly upland with the occasional waterfowl hunt. I have a new pup now, and am getting a second pup next week. I want to get a new O/U for my hunting adventures with the new pups and the 686 has caught my eye. In the past I have owned the Savage 512, Franchi Veloce, Franchi Rennasaince, and currently own a Savage Milano (FAIR). All were good and I enjoyed them all. I am going to stick with the 28 gauge as my main gun, but may also pick up a 20 for gunning in tests, and the occasional trap/skeet shooting or as my waterfowl piece.
Anyone here with real in the field experience with the Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon? All the shotguns mentioned above were mechanical triggers, but apparently the Beretta is inertia, has this ever created any problems? I have never experienced a dud or a light strike in many hundreds and maybe thousands of rounds that I have fired so I don't really think it is an issue. Any input would be appreciated, or suggestions on other O/Us in a similar quality and price range.
