Beretta 686 Onyx Pro

I've got a 686S field gun 28 inch barrels and love it. I love it for bird hunting (Upland and waterfowl). It's light, fast and for me still smooth swinging. It might seem a bit light for clay shooting. After about 125 it's time to take a break as my shoulder gets a bit tender. The gun is about 20+ years old and has never had a problem or seen a gunsmith. This year I took off the stock to change the recoil pad and clean the inside. It didn't need much. If it fits, you won't be disappointed.

I own that exact gun. I have put about 1500 rounds through it so far. Mostly skeet rounds. It fits me well and has been a great gun....until I switched brand of shells. Now it is really hard to open after the bottom barrel has been fired. I have taken it back to the shop where I bought it and they have tried to fix it. It is just as bad now. A lot of experienced shotgun owners have looked at my problem and said there is no way it should be doing this. The shop where I bought it don't seem to really want to fix the problem. They just told me to switch brand of shells. I 12 gauge should work with 12 gauge shells...period. If not there is something wrong with the gun.
If you plan on shooting skeet with this gun, use the cheapest shells you can find cause it does not like a better quality shells. Also it doesn't come with a second skeet choke so you will have to order one. ($85) and 3 weeks to get one.
Good luck, it's a great gun for the price.
