Beretta 686E Sporting Info Requested

Just my $0.02, I have a 687 Silver Pigeon II, fantastic O/U would recommend it to anybody. I did have a problem though with empty shot casings getting stuck in the gun, when I would go to break the gun the lever would get stuck half way and I would have to jiggle the barrel selector to work it loose. Sent it off for warranty, came back 2 months later, a little late for my liking, but problem solved. Just needed a thorough cleaning of the internal mechanics.

Oh, wood is beautiful, engravings are elegant, and it feels so... "right" in my hands. Like it almost balances itself. My advice no matter which one you go for is hold one up with the 28" barrel and with the 30" barrel and see which one feels better. I'm 6'1 and quite strong so the 30" felt better.

i have your same exact gun... 686E sporting with adj. comb... i have it in 30" bbls, and it's awesome... i love berettas!!!
the 682 is an amazing gun, but so is the the whole 68x family... as for the differences between the field, sporting, skeet, and trap, well according to my shallow knowledge, i know that the trap has the highest set stock, followed by the sporting followed by the skeet and finally the field...
at the end of the day, a gun is a gun, and if you're comfortable shooting any of them, then that's what you'll score with... the stock settings are made in this pattern coz that's what they figured to be the most suitable for each sport throughout the years... however, this doesn't mean that you can't use a sporting gun in trap or skeet in field or whatever... the most important thing is be comfortable with your gun...
as for the differnce between brownings, berettas and franchis, i don't know much about franchis... berettas adn brownings are both good quality and it's hard to go wrong with either... and to be honest, i think it's a personal prefernce... i personally have the hearts for the berettas and i think they more agile ... that doesn't mean brownings are bad... just means i love berettas more... and i think if i'll go higher in the competition guns it'll still be a beretta... maybe the 682 or the dt10 depending on how much i can afford...

hi pal!! well i tell you!! im a canadian living in italy. ill give you an answer on your question. im shooting with a 682E and all the shooting fields ive been here the only rifles ive seen was perazzi and beretta 682 and D10. i think ive told you everything. nothing to say about the rest but if you want the best and a great quality and price look ahead on 682. cheers

682s

I shoot a 682S..and shoot it lots....One of the reasons I picked this model..the 682, is the fact that it has replaceable shoulders and hinge pins..should they ever wear out or loosen up... It's a good feature on an expensive shotgun. Forcing cones are opened, barrels are ported . Favorite chokes for sporting clays...and of course it depends on the course..Skeet 1 lower, and M or IC on the top..
love it..

Nice gun long bow, I have a few Berretas, and also like them, but I can shoot my Guerrini better.
