Beretta 687 EELL Classic

I got this Beretta a few years ago. It's a 20 gauge called Silver Pigeon C which has really nice case colours, modest engraving and decent walnut. It came with screw chokes and Beretta case for under $3k. I've heard that most of the C grades were intended for the European market but a few made their way into Canada.

I have seen pics of Ricardo's stocks---they are outstanding---did your friend get his stocks done without shipping his guns to Portugal? I have heard that for common guns like Perazzi's and Krieghoff's that he doesn't need your gun---the stocks may require fitting but sure a lot better than trying to figure out how to ship your gun to Portugal.

Both sets were for Kreighoff and fit perfectly without any extra fitting. Only the year of manufacture and a couple measurements were required! Turnaround was 6 weeks or less. Stunning stuff it he has also had original Wenning stocks that were incredible!

The 687EELL has shot up in price over the past few years---probably doubled over the past 5 years or so.
A nice alternative is the 687 Silver Pigeon V that retails for about $5k. I picked up this used 20 gauge last year and its a great field gun.

I Wanted one of these in the worst way when they first came out but I was only 21 years old just starting out in life.I had some $$$ saved but it was either that or a new rifle and I took the rifle which still serves me well.

Thats one of the better looking Vs Ive seen however I remember seeing one on here years ago in a 28 gauge that had really nice wood.

Just out of curiosity, what is the cost roughly for an exhibition grade stock like that after all the dust settles?

Here's another Beretta that was in my collection.
It's a Beretta 687EL, one grade below the EELL. It's in the hard to find 28 gauge. Nice handling gun.

I’m a bit biased as I shoot a 687EELL Diamond Pigeon Sporting as my main skeet gun. I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to by an EELL in 28 ga if I needed one.

There are technical differences between the 687 and 686. The 687 has replaceable wear components such as the barrel shoulders that the 686 does not. Of course the aesthetics will be much better than on any 686 as mentioned. While essentially the same they are different.

687EELL’s come up on the used market fairly often. If you’re stuck on a 28 gauge it may be a bit more of a wait though. There is normally a decent bit of money to be saved if you can find one and they normally are lightly used and well looked after.

In your price range I’d also seriously be considering Rizzini round body and Regal models. Also Caesar Gureini Maxus and Magnus models.
