Hey guys. Ive been looking to pick up a handgun in .22lr and the 70 series Berettas look like a very reliable and fun little rimfire gun. I searched the forum, and found a few posts on this series, but not as much feedback as id like before i made a purchase. Im leaning towards the 74 model because of the adjustable rear sights and 10 round magazine, but extra magazines seem impossible to find. The 71 model also is an option, but with fixed sights and 8 round magazines im less drawn towards it, although magazines are possible to find. Are there any members out there that have either one of these handguns, or both, who can give me some advice as to what would be the better choice? Or, has anyone found a solution for extra magazines for a 74 model? I've done some searching on google and found that with some modifications Bersa 644 mags can work, as well as GT22 magazines. But i dont know where to find those in Canada.

Thanks and Happy New Year

Jordan

I have a 71 and love it. You are correct that magazines are easier to find for this model . Mine is extremely accurate and reliable.
Once you put a few rounds through it you will find where its printing and won't have any trouble with the fixed sights. Great little plinker!

I had a beretta like this 25 years ago it was fun, but I ended up trading it for something else.
I am considering finding an old one with a prohib length barrel.

Love the 71 as well. By far my favorite 22 pistol. Ive considered the barrel mod SJ is offering right new but it's such a good shooter ibdont want to mess with it.
