Beretta 71 - safe to carry cocked and locked?

If I could CCW my Beretta 71, would it be safe to carry cocked and locked?

Mine has the through-the-grip safety, and it comes off pretty easily...I don't think I would carry mine cocked and locked.

On the slide or on the frame?? Both of mine are frame-mounted, and I'd have no problems carrying condition 1...

It's exactly like a 1911 thumb safety.

They were good enough for the Mossad.

They are lovely little guns...beautifully built and finished. Mine was made in 1959 and it looks brand new.

They sure are and mine shoots everything including dirty cheap Wallymart bulk pack ammo without jams or any other dramas.

There also is an internet rumour, that the ammo used in the rimfires were long bullet, LR profile. Just like the Aquila SSS 60 grain, long rifle cartridges.
