Beretta 87 target

I have one, got it on the EE earlier this year. I LOVE it, it's super accurate and functions flawlessly. Plus it's got such a cool, futuristic look to it. Not sure if they are still sold, as new, I thought I read somewhere they weren't being imported to Canada anymore?? Maybe I'm mistaken... I strongly recommend acquiring one if you can find one.

Can't share personal experience but only heard very good things. Calgary Shooting centre is the only place that seem to have one new. and this is the first one i've seen listed at a shop for a long while. I've only seen one on EE over the last year. I believe this model was discontinued.

I have one. This would be my assessment:

Pros

- very accurate
- great looking pistol
- usefully long integral rail for mounting optics
- the iron sights are good
- light weight (about 25 oz. if I remember correctly)
- external hammer allows you to thumb #### and try again on a misfire
- generally a high quality look and feel

Cons

- magazines have sharp lips and a tiny follower button, making them difficult to load (a Baby Uplula loader completely eliminates this problem)
- trigger is a little sloppy; noticeable overtravel
- grip is small and oddly contoured (at least for my hand)
- pulling back the slide is a little awkward - it slides between the frame and the rail so you can't get a really firm grip on it, especially with an optic mounted

It's like a lot of other Italian engineered products - great looks, good performance combined with some design peculiarities. On the whole I like it, though I would never recommend it as a first or only pistol.

Don't know where you can get one. They're kind of thin on the ground.
