hello

i've been looking at another 22 pistol for my girlfriend the beretta 87 looks pretty sweet. has any one out there owned or shot one please let me know what you think, and if you can compare it to the ruger mk iii is it worth the big gap in price ?

thanks

I have one,, shot very well very accurate and feed all kind of ammo.
It a expensive gun but it worth the money,,, you have for what you pay,, good balancing and good grip, good finition, good triger.

I love my 87 Target.
Beretta = Quality :)

Vinnce.

87 target is very accurate and the metal finish quality is much better. I like both my MKIII and 87 but my I like to hold/shot my 87 most of the time.

I've owned the Ruger mark 3 Stainless Competition Target model for about 2 years. I really liked that pistol because it was accurate, nice looking and was eating all kind of ammo. But it was a real pain in the a** when came the time to clean it. Disasembling the pistol was easy but reasembling it was just a real pain.

So I sold it last year and bought the Beretta 87 Target. One word about this pistol and its WoW. The perfect match for me, shoots as good as my Ruger and very easy to clean. Yes it is expensive but worth all the money.

I have an 87T and it's very reliable and accurate. The 87T is almost double the price of my MkII Government Competition but, IMHO, it was worth it. I'd sell the MkII before I'd sell the 87T....YMMV.

SpoonMan, where'd you get those wood grips for your 87T?

i ended up finding a used beretta 76 which seems like the perdisesor of the 87 he was selling if for a not so bad prise, well for canada any ways $425, i will probaly get the 87 when the funds come to hand again, more the guns the better:)

Are the 87s ammo sensitive or do they shoot everything well?

Mine has 'ate' everything it was fed. Dynapoints, CCI SV, CCI Blazer, Thunderbolts, Federal Bulk pack, AE 40g and AE 38g PHP, PMC Scoremaster, Winchester Wildcat and Xpert and a probably a few more brand/types that don't come to mind right now...
I've owned my 87T since 2004 and it has seen close to 10,000 rounds through it!! Still going strong! :)
