Just bought one yesterday in.40 can`t wait to shoot it. Anyone have one and have thoughts on it?

I have had one for about a year and I love it. For my hand size I feel the eronomics of fit and form of the grip have been developed well from the older 92's. Again for me the weight works well and the action cycles to provide a smooth recoil. I don't suffer with recoil as much as some folks but even so I can go all day long with this baby. Typical sessions for me would be at least 200 rounds.
The breakdown of course is almost one handed and fast. This means that cleaning isn't a chore which translates to it being done more regularly. Although I must say I feed it all the cheapest crap I can find and I have never had a type 2 or 3 malfunction yet.
Acuracy is as far as I can tell just fine. I am sure there will be some that coan comment more than me on that due to my abilities but I seem to hit what I aim at generally. This for me is just as well because I wouldn't want to have to set to on the frame with a drift to change the fixed tapered night sight. I happen to like the 3 dot sights although I am thinking of changing them at some point ( this is not my main gun so it can wait)
As as SA/DA gun I feel the first pull is a little on the heavy side in comparisson to the SA shot. If they were a little closer in weight of pull I think that could help me at least..
With the 5" barrel it still works well as a holster sidearm and for those that have their CCW's it is a work horse and can be presented very well from the holster in quick time. Again, with the decocker/safety for some this is a better choice as a sidearm as it requires the DA pull (personally I prefer the 1911's from the profile width and SA shot)
I also own the Ceiner .22lr conversion for this gun which works very well and reliably. It adds a little cost saving to my CCW presentation practice. (or at least it did before I moved to Canada where it seems they don't like the holster use at the range)

all in all I would give this an 8/10 for weight, feel, recoil, price and reliablity
Well done on your purchase and all the best of fun with it.

Jonsey

Thanks for your input. Any idea where I can get the smaller grips mail order or otherwise.

'D spring' will lighten the trigger pull esp in DA.

Victoria BC just thought you guys may know where to get some via the net. I have e-mailed the usual suspects including the dealer i bought the pistol from. Just impatient.

All dealers I e-mailed have replied with a no go, they say they are not in Canada yet??? Thanks for sending the guns here but no grips.

BS! My wife bought a 90-Two from William's Arms in Port Perry, ON, a week later she wanted the smaller grip, they mailed it to me for about $15...easy to change, not a heck of a lot of difference however but it is noticeable.

beretta

I was a big fan of the Beretta when everyone was Glock this and Sig that and Beretta was nothing but crap, the US military trials were fixed etc etc. I was truly excited when the 90 two came out, right up to the point when I actually had it in my hand and saw the pirce, $1199!!!!! So I moved on. Recently I noticed that the price had dropped to $849. I managed to try one out. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, it was ok, it was no 92FS. I truly believe that Beretta made a huge mistake by discontinuing the 92-96 series. I also recently tried a S&W MP and the Sigpro. The Sig will be getting my money. Kind of feel like I'm going to the dark side, but the 90 two is no 92-96 IMO

I will post the pics as soon as I get the grips. FYI they are coming from Goble's Firearms, London, On. Very nice guy by the name of David Sanderson. Also I have a 92 FS INOX, a M&P in .40 and of course the 90-TW0. I love all of them feel, look and shooting wise. If I had to pick one it would be the M&P, but keep in mind it is also the one I have shot the most. I will be able to give a better range report once I have done some more shooting. The INOX also has after market springs, laser grips, SS guide rod, and a recoil buffer so it will most likely be the better of the pistols I would think.

it's more of an opinion, then a fact. IMO, the fit and finish is far better on the 92, I shoot better with the 92-96 pistols. I think the price is closer to where it should be, but compared to the Sig at $750 with night sites and the S&W at $649, it's still over priced IMO.

Slim Grip Pics

IM Lugger Quote: whn you get and install it can you take a pic of what it looks like on the gun?

A lot of you will say you see no difference but it is in the feel not the look, the slim has a straight line at the backstrap if you look close.

Shot a 90-2 a few weeks ago and its a smooth, accurate pistol.

Wouldnt make me buy one, but its a definite improvement over the standard 92 series

A sig with night sights at 750.00 wow that sounds like a deal...I'll beleive it when I see it. The Beretta goes for anything from 850.00 to 1100.00. The sig is usually in the 1150 range. I don't know why the Beretta is a target sometimes.
