So you pay for the gun, then wait by the phone untill its ok to go pick it up ?

Pretty much. Most (if not all) dealers will need payment up front before thry start the transfer. And then, yep, you just wait... Sometimes it can speed things up a bit if you call the CFO's office and check on it from time to time.

Also, if this is your first restricted, you will need to fax the CFO a copy of a valid range membership before they will approve the transfer and issue your ATT.
