Beretta 92/96 slides

Hi, i have a beretta 96 and i would like to put it in 9mm, so i know it is possible by buying a new barrel (in 9mm) but is the slide the same from the 96 to 92? (if i just bought a 92fs barrel, would the dimension fit the 96 slide?)

I don't think so. breech face is different. you'd need a new slide as well

didn't we have a thread with this not long ago? someone mentioned that same slide works if you get a conversion barrel.
