Beretta 92 cracked slides?

Of course we've all heard about beretta 92 slides cracking and flying off their frames during 1980s military trials.

I don't think the slide issues happened during the trials but later on with well used pistols and hot ammo.

Would you happen to know the year of manufacture of your 92?

No, I truly don't know the age but I know it's been around over ten years. True about stainless, because they may harden it a bit much it can become brittle. I don't know if it was that or just metal fatigue. I'm still shooting it lots, I fell into 5000 rds of IVI 9mm to consume. No problems here.
