Beretta 92 FS compact (pics)

Nice grips. Here's mine.

My issues always been the fatness of the 92 brick grip, I thought the compact be better. Was the same just shorter.

Before going to the Beretta I thought the same thing, that the grip felt like a club. After a few thousand rounds and hours and hours of dry fire, it's a non issue.

Also, have you tried VZ grips? Very thin and comfortable. I'm not sure if they make compact grips though. Their texturing does not cover as much of the grip as I would like, so I just use some stock grips that I stippled. The stock grips are a little thicker than the VZ's so I thined the edges of the grip where it meets the web of my hand.

Nope Tried a couple, 92's and didnt like the fatness of the Double Stack. Hands are too small for most double stack. ( Sig, Beretta, CZ97B )

+1

Back in the day after handling one I decided against it.

Eventually, went BHP MkIII for a 9mm double stack & never looked back.

I tried it a couple times, so wasn't like first impressions. After shooting a M9 and well that compact and both having the same feel. Knew wasn't gonna be any improvement, both had thin grips to begin with.

I really like my Berettas, 92s and 96. Then again, I have big ugly looking gorilla hands (well the big part is true at least).

Is the compact any shorter length than the Elite IIs?

The Type M (8 round magazine) version has a slim grip but the slide is still fat due to the locking block.

Grips are fine for me. In fact, they are very comfortable. I just love the craftsmanship of this pistol. All metal, awesome finish and very very elegant lines. Italians know HOW to make things to look good :)

For the people who don't like the 92's grip size I recommend getting or trying a 90-two. The 90-two has a slimmer frame which you can also put on a set of slim grips. I tried the 92 but like everyone else found the grip large. Now I'm a happy owner of a 90-two that fits my hand nicely.

I had the Taurs version of this gun and the grips I did find short for my size large hands. I've seen a few type M's for sale on the EE over the years and have always wanted to get my hands on one.

The only thing I don't like about INOX that they have a red dots on sights. It's too complicated for my brain to compile red dots on black with red dot on silver. I am painting them white as we speak. :)
