Good day folks,

I am in the process of picking up a Beretta 92A1. While i'm waiting for this god awful transfer process and whatnot, I decided to take a look at mods and accessories.

I've been eyeballing some Wilson Combat parts (short reach trigger, D spring, guide rod, mag well) as well as a nice adjustable target sight set (L.P.A.). The problem is, I can only find them in the US and Brownells states that it won't ship parts over 100 dollars. Anyone know of a retailer in Canada that supplies these goodies?

Cheers,
Alkaline1

You can order up to $500US in firearm parts form Brownells without having to get an export permit. Over $100US but under $500US, you have to fill out a simple declaration statement form (they email it to you) which basically says you are purchasing the items for personal use. Under $100US, no paperwork.

LOTS and LOTS of threads on importing from Brownells.

Thanks for the replies folks! I will give Wanstalls a shot first. Id rather keep money in Canada if i can.

For those interested, these are the sights i am looking into at the moment: www. brownells. com/handgun-parts/sights/sight-sets/beretta-adjustable-sight-set-prod73521.aspx?psize=96&avs%7cMake%7e%7eModel_1=Beretta__92

But a G decocker kit from Brownells if your looking for a mod. Not on their website l. Call them to order.

Buy the purpose built, purpose made Wilson Beretta. It's outstanding. Swapping out parts does not make your Beretta a Wilson Beretta. Swap out all the parts you want in a chi-com 1911, and you still got a chi-com 1911.

Sorry, but I'll skip the wilson combat price tag for now. Not trying to turn it into something its not, just some quality of life modifications. Less than 200 dollars on a 700 dollar gun is still pretty affordable.

The D Spring and the G Decocker would be about all I would do. One of the 92A1's I bought had the short reach steel trigger in it and frankly I prefer the OEM trigger. I found the steel trigger to take the trigger break to far back in the pull for my medium large hands. Just personal preference really. If you don't have an issue with the trigger the gun came with I am not sure spending the extra bucks does much for you. The OEM is a steel trigger wrapped in a polymer coating as you may know.

Take care

Bob

I may skip the trigger. The only reason i was considering it was comparing my range buddys 92fs trigger to my ppq/1911/ruger mk3 triggers. All of which have a much shorter/less spongey pull.
