Going to the well again!

I thought I would seek advice on here and maybe listen this time! I bought a Beretta 92S police issue little while ago. It is OK. I should have bought the FS model.

So I am going to buy either a: 92FS, 92A1, 90-2, might go M9A1 but not the M9A3. Thoughts-advice? I want the classic, parts repair available. New or lightly used. It will just sit in my gun chest till Trudeau come for all my guns!

They are all stupidly reliable pistols. You can't go wrong with any of them. I own a 90-two myself. The 90-two is no longer manufactured. So finding a new one will be difficult. The 90-two has the option of putting slim grips on them wich is nice for people with smaller hands.

I like the 92f personally this particular one was made in 86 and has had fewer then 150 rounds through it. My last 92fs had 15,000 rounds through it and my dad's 92fs must be well over 30,000 rounds.

I've had most of them and I would say go with the 92fs just because there are so many out there. They are all awesome pistols though.

I've had a bunch of them over the years, they're great guns, but the S model is basically the GI version of a 1911 world and was updated for a reason.

The Beretta I have now is a keeper - 92FS Inox, had it for 15 years , done a few upgrades. I personally don't like the grip angle in the slim /vertec model grip. Id go with a 92FS or 92A1 if you want a rail.

I have a 92F. I would have gotten an FS but got a pretty good deal on the F from a retailer. Anyhow, even though some say the grips are too fat, I like them as they allow me to wrap a gimped finger most closely to completely around as compared to many other pistols. Disassembly is stupidly easy and the gun never fails to go "bang". The 2 criticisms I have are that as another poster said, the sights are on the small side, and the trigger is mushy.

D spring helps a lot with the trigger pull and you can still change the rear sight on a 92 with a fixed front sight. (I've done both)

Well my logic strikes again! I decided I had a Beretta 92 and I would prefer to get the 92FS but would have trouble dumping the 92S. Didn't want both, too much money tied up basically. And the 92S isn't that bad... So I started looking at Sig Sauer a which was my next target! I found a smoking hot deal on a new P210 Target $1699. This is stainless slide, frame and 5 inch bbl. I like a heavy gun and longer bbl. So I'm making a deal on that tomorrow.

Thanks for the posts. Sorry I am so erratic. I expect I will enjoy the P210 in 9mm.

The 92s is the same in terms of accuracy and feel vs the 92fs. The big differences are the sights and mag release. If you are not big on the 92s then the 92fs won't do it for you. Get a SP01 or just wait until you make up your mind. Personally the more I shoot the more all DA/SA guns begin the feel the same, at this stage give me a month and 1k rounds I can shoot a DA/SA gun as well as the last.

I have a new CZ75 Shadow but I think it is the old style. I love that gun. It cost me around a thousand about a year ago.

To me the DA/SA issue isn't an issue. I do not rack the slide than decock. I rack the slide and shoot the gun. I do not carry the gun in a holster.

I don't care about the mag release. Don't do any shooting competitipns. The front sight is too small, this is true. I have thought about ways to fix it and may try that. Don't care if I wreck the gun! Thinking about making a dovetail in the slide, just thinking not done any research.

I would buy the 92FS or the M9A1 for sure. I held the M9A3, it is sweet but expensive. The coating seems fragile, my dealer has a used one and coating is scratched off in 2 places. Looks bad. If I sell the 92S I will look for the 92FS or similar. No money now. Trying to sell two guns, crickets. Gun sales must be horrid.

I shot IPSC for 2 years with my M9A3, coating stood up fine, actually better than the blued elite 1A or 90-two the I had used prior, out of all the different Beretta's that I have had the A3 was, is, my fav to shoot.
