Got some Christmas cash,

Going to upgrade my 'soon to arrive' 92fs :)

I have this picked out from Brownells:

But they are out of D springs.

Does anyone know of another supplier I can get everything from?

Cheers

Good upgrades. Add a lighter hammer/mainspring and maybe Elite hammer to the shopping cart.

I went with the flat mainspring cap instead of the lanyard version.

Save your money on the reduced power trigger spring unit, you wont notice the difference and they are not a smooth pull. D spring is a 16lb, you can get a 13lb from wolf and the steel guide rod is also available thru them as well and was cheaper than brownells when i got mine. Brownells also has the extended mag release and LPA adjustable rear sights if needed. There is also a sear available from cyl & slide which for the price will make more of a noticeable difference than replacing the hammer.

Thank you so much! I'll have a look

Cut about 3.5 coils off your factory spring and you have a dspring. Brownells also sells a bushing to replace the decocking lever, or you can make one, safety still functions as normal just doesn't decock hammer so your in Single action and safety engaged, you can pull trigger to drop hammer if need be. I can't speak for the beretta factory trigger side by side with the Wilson combat short reach but when placed directly on top of a Girsan steel trigger the difference in profile is so small I would almost guarantee that you could not tell the difference. IMO the guide rod is probably a waste of money but each to their own. Congrats on the purchase I absolutely love my Beretta!!

You're a lifesaver! That is something I saw a few days ago!

Yeah, want one of those myself as soon as I can lay my hands in one.
I saw you had a lanyard loop on you list, Beretta also makes a flush one and Wilson makes a curved slanted one they call a mag guide although if you plan on shooting any pistol competitions anything not OEM is not allowed.

I've been running the "D" spring and that reduced power trigger spring for many thousands now, I DO notice a difference over stock with that trigger spring but I've always thought it feels a little "mushy". The main reason (as I understood it when I did it) for that trigger spring mod is not a reduced pull but rather reliability - however I've not seen or experienced a stock trigger spring fail so.... might be more of a solution for a problem that never existed, I dunno.

The "D" spring was an excellent upgrade and I'll never go back. Big change on that first DA pull, means time on the clock.

I had replaced my two-piece guide rod (it was steel) with a single steel unit because I wore out the original two-piece one. Lotta slop and I was having some reliability issues.

Your mileage will vary, although at the end of the day it is "Fun Per Gallon" in this sport...

Was it the early model Berettas that had the two piece guide rods?

If you like the D spring you should try a 13lb from Wolf, the D spring is a 16lb. What I found with the reduced power trigger unit was in DA if felt gritty instead of smooth, there is a reduced power spring that is the same style as the stock one but the problem is if it reduces the amount of pressure to pull the trigger then it also reduces the pressure to reset the trigger.

It's a 1992 I've had it almost since new; the original had a pinned joint and that developed a significant amount of slop.

Yes I actually have a Wolf one somewhere, I've tried them both - I don't recall why I ended up with the D spring in there both had an improvement. Maybe because I'm usually running harder primers, I do recall having some issues with light strikes some years ago that MIGHT be why.

Thanks; The reduced unit I have has the bar system in there; I can't say mine is gritty but it does feel quite a bit different from stock. Mine seems more "mushy" to me in single action anyway. I'll have a look for that one you describe worth trying it out. Come to think of it I might have one in my parts drawers (from Wolff).

Thanks man! I can't wait to get it! I sold my PPQ navy and bought a 5" PPQ as well. I will be keeping it stock other than the night sights she is coming with. But over time I want to remove all plastic from the Beretta and tune it a bit. Just for fun. I hear ya on the polymer guide rods being fine... I just want that all metal 92FS :)

I ordered all the stuff in that screen shot just now. I'll have to sorce a D Spring, and metal safety... not sure what else is plastic after that...

Look at the low profile single sided safety from Wilson as well

Yup, got one of those installed. The G decocker kit does look good.
