Beretta 92 vertec and compact?

Do you mean the 92 Compact? They are available in SB, FS and FS with rails. Stainless and Bruniton finish.

I just acquired a Girsan Compact with a rail. The Beretta would not offer any more to the shooter than the Girsan in terms of build quality. After 250 rounds of flawless shooting I can say the Beretta would have to be priced the same for me to be interested. The Beretta design is solid and I have a better appreciation for the US Army's decision to go with the design over the Sig 226. I have the latter in the Mke 25 and it is a very good pistol. I am not so sure it is any better than the Beretta design.
Girsan makes a FS gun as well and I suspect it is worth looking at. It sells for a couple hundred dollars less.

I'm a Beretta fan boy. That being said, I own a Girsan compact and I love it. Can't imagine the Beretta compact being any better, and, the Girsan costs less. Parts are interchangeable (at least, the ones you're likely to change out like the "D" spring, grips, recoil string, etc..)
I believe the Girsan still has an alloy frame the same as Beretta and although the Girsan compact has a longer grip that uses a full size mag its still lighter than the shorter gripped Beretta compact that uses a shorter mag.
Compact Girsan MC: Weight (without magazine) : 830 gr
Compact Beretta: Weight unloaded (g) 896
Full size Girsan regard: Weight (without magazine) : 874 gr
Full size Beretta 92 fs: Weight unloaded (g) 945
All steel guns like the CZ shadow and Tanfoglio stock 3 come in at around the 1200 gram mark.
Yes Girsan has an alloy frame as well. I have the compact model (Beretta Centurion copy) no rail and find it to be rather light weight for a metal gun. Great gun esp for the money! Best 9mm for under $500 IMO. I also own a Beretta full size 92FS Inox and it's a beauty, solid and reliable as they get.
To answer your question Vertec models haven't been available for close to 10 years but can be found on the used market. Beretta Contact models have been discontinued for years too, but they been making then again recently and you might be able to find one new. FYI 90two models have interchangeable grips and small one is Vertec size. Personally I prefer full size grip, but really liking the finger grooves on the Girsan.

The M9A3 is a Vertec.
I have a 96 Inox Vertec, Elite 1A and an M9A3 and other than some checkering and the notches in the rail the frames are identical on all 3 of them.

Yup. I got the M9A3 BECAUSE of the vertec grip. It just fits beautifully. Where I always found 92/96's to feel a little clunky in my hands.
Though it's a ##### to find a Holster for the M9A3...
Most A1 and Vertec holsters will fit it, im using a Safariland 579-683-411 for IPSC but Solely Canadian makes some nice holsters to fit it now also.
Correct. I have a Bladetech 92A1 holster and I use it for both he M9A3 as well as the Vertec Inox.
To the OP, Beretta stock is low these days with the factory move to TN; I posted a WTB for a vertec and got one in a week or so.
This!. My experience as well. Now if I could find mags that hold the slide back... I may have to buy a Beretta slide top. I think therein lies the problem with my gun. Neither of my Girsan mags are holding the slide back now when you rack the slide. The followers on both mags are getting chewed up pretty good where the slide stop catches the follower. Ah well another 1st world problem. LOL
