Thanks. Is that the same pistol though? I am fairly new to Beretta's...the "A" and the "1" are reversed on the pistol in the IPSC list. I also haven't seen the words Vertec or Elite anywhere on or near my 92A1.

To be honest I'm not too familiar to beretta's myself so I could be wrong too. I assumed it would be.

You could always just join the dark side and buy a Shadow....

Believe your A1 version is a 92 with a rail and the Elite (II) version has a different barrel (flush), slide (Brigadier), hammer (skeletonized), springs (D spring)... fairly different firearm.

I am not sure but i have posted it up on the world forum and i am hoping to have an answer in 24 hours.

Thank-you.

I just heard from a fellow in the States that said the USPSA does not have it approved yet but he figures it's just a matter of time.

Thanks, that's the impression I was under as well..but I am by no means an expert.

here is the reply i got:

I'll add the 92A1 (and M9A1) to the list during our next update due on 1 April 2012.

Hi Walter - never met you - but could you also get my gun approved?

It's a Colt rail gun and while doing extensive research on the gun itself, I didn't research whether it was IPSC approved. It is not - as I have lamented in another thread.

Whaddaya think - can we get this one approved?

phatman, unfortunately no. the rules for classic division at this point are very clear (if you have a 2012 rule book Appendix D3 point 16.) it states: "Handguns must be based on and visibly resemble the classic 1911-genre design. This means a single-stack, one piece metal frame, and a dust cover (without an accessory rail) which has a maximum length of 75mm when measured from the leading edge of the dust cover to the rear of the slide stop pin." The best you can do is shoot it in standard division with 8 rounds mags, major.

Time to join the dark side and buy a Shadow?? lol

Nope, he needs to truly go to the dark side a buy a nice open gun.:)

This is my other gun...
