Hey guys. I have the Beretta .22 conversion kit for my 92FS, (not Cienner) and had two questions for you.

1. Is there a detailed disassembly walkthrough anywhere? Is there anything else I can do that will allow me to clean where the safety/firing pin is? (Obviously I've taken out the barrel/spring/guide rod)

2. I'm having light strikes on most of the ammo I'm feeding through it. It can take a second or third hammer strike to set off the primer (after FTF, wait 60 seconds. Still nothing, so recock the hammer and try again). It could be related to a carbon buildup within the firing pin area, so I'm wondering if I could just clean it out? If not, any other ideas?

Thanks for the help guys. Hopefully this won't be more hassle than it's worth. Otherwise, I'll bring it to P&D to get looked at.

I don't have a .22 kit but I will assume the slide is designed the same way as the 9mm one. Did you ever take it apart?

there was a site beretta92fs.com I think that had videos of the takedown

No, I can't say I've taken apart the slide on my 9mm. I guess I should do that too eh to give it a clean.

I just watched the 'remove extractor' video. Do you figure that will be sufficient to get the lead buildup out? Looks doable. So does the put together.

DEFINITELY just bookmarked that site. Thanks IM_Lugger!!!!

Just checked the conversion slide. Has the same pin in the same location for extractor takedown. Will try it tomorrow after work to see how it goes.

Once again, CGN for the win!

When I removed the extractor on my 92 (after about 3K shots) there was quite a bit of build up in there but if you want to clean the firing pin/channel you'll need to remove the safety. (I haven't done that yet)
