I wanted a .22 for cheaper fun and for the kid to start learning with. When I saw this one for sale I was intrigued and after a bit of research grabbed one. I took it to the range yesterday and am impressed. It handled and shot well. The best part was that it seems to be less ammo picky (as per reviews I read as well). I ran a box of CCI mini mages through it to break it in and then tried 2 magazines of regular blazer brass .22LR and it fed and fired and cycled without problem. This looks like a great option for someone looking for a .22LR trainer version of a 9mm etc.

I don’t have any experience with a 92fs .22 but I can say mini mags cycle through most firearms and usually for semi handguns , round nose works better than hollow points

Nice, glad it seems like a good gun, I've always loved the look of the 92, and having it available in a .22 seems pretty cool to me. How was the weight compared to a 92?

I have had some time at the range with the Beretta 92FS .22LR I got from Al Flaherty's last month. It has run flawlessly with a mix of CCI Mini-Mags, bulk Federal Champion 36 gr and bulk Winchester 36 gr HP ammo. No issues at all. The trigger is typical Beretta; single action breaks clean about 5 lbs. Double action quite stiff and I don't bother using it. Sights were bang on at 15 yards.
Overall I am very happy with it. It feels more robust than the Walther PPQ .22LR or the Colt/Walther 1911 .22LR I've owned.
If you like the Beretta platform (as I do) it is the perfect plinker.

Yup. Started with mini mags. Then tried the Blazer Brass to see how it ran. No problem with it so far. Going to try a mix of stuff as I go to see if it happily eats the cheaper stuff I'll feed the bolt action rifle.

A tad lighter but not by much. I handled a regular 92FS side by side with the .22 in the store but didn't weigh them etc. They were pretty close. Might be different loaded up with ammo as 10 rounds of 9mm is likely much heavier than 10 rounds of .22

Took this out again last night and I'm super pleased with it. I bought a bunch of cheap Herter's brand ammo at Bass pro Shops. They had it on sale for $22 for a box of 500. Figured if the Beretta didn't like it my .22 rifle would be fine with it. But this pistol fired it without problem. Probably ran a hundred rounds through it and not a single failure. I'm impressed.
