Beretta 92fs inox vs CZ85 combat - both 9mm

Have the CZ, accurate and reliable-adjustable rear sight is nice. Trigger pull is better, now that it has a few rounds through it. Would buy it again. Don't have the Beretta, but I don't think you can go wrong with it either. I also have the Kadet which is worth the money, just don't know why it costs more than the 85. Very accurate, once broken in, and is my favourite .22 now.

CZ! I have fired both alot, but the CZ just feels better in my hand! It is a little heavier I believe as it has a full top slide, and all steel where the Beretta has an aluminum frame, and an open slide, and this helps in the recoil department. Also the grip of the Beretta is a little thick and has a really long strange trigger pull.

Ive had 3 beretta's (2x90-two's and 1x M9) and 2 x cz shadows. All i can tell you is that personally I love the cz design a lot better then the beretta. Both are good, both will do the same thing. But I do find that muzzle flip is less with the cz because of the weight difference.
The main pointer I could give you is try to get a feel for both and get what fits your hands better.

Fyi, spare parts are more readily available in canada for the cz's.

I have a 92FS Inox and a 75B Stainless. Both are great guns. Beretta looks great and is more forgiving about ammo; will shoot pretty much anything, where CZ is more sensitive. But it fits my hand like no other gun so I can shoot it pretty well.

It depends on how it fits your hand, are your hands large or smaller? The Beretta is a large gun for it's caliber. I can reach the controls (safety, mag release) with my shooting hand easier (without shifting my grip) with the CZ as opposed to the larger Beretta.

I have both and like them both, but I favor the CZ for the above reason, plus you can carry "cocked and locked" with the CZ.

Have both (CZ Tactical became Shadow, Beretta Inox (Italian & US), wife has M9), like both designs - different grip, different weight - try both.

Re. spare parts, I have the opposite experience, the Beretta parts I order direct from Stoegers without any issue and is good availability. CZ parts for a rifle I have, well am waiting for over 8 months now (warranty recently changed from London Arms to CFRAM, perhaps that will help but they are also exacerbated at inability to get required parts).

But more of the weight on the CZ is up front under the barrel, where the Beretta is more in the frame and rear of the slide! Regardless the Beretta has more muzzle flip IMHO.
maybe if you're talking about Shadow or SP-01 Tactical model. Regular 75/85 has a low profile slide that is thinned down at the muzzle - not much weight there at all! All of the weight is in steel frame. Beretta has an alloy frame and heavier taller slide. If you notice any difference in muzzle flip it's probably due to low bore axis of the CZ. 92 is a pretty soft shooting gun nonetheless.

I prefer the CZ due to grip and the safety is easier to manipulate. That and the Beretta safety is opposite to what you expect and is mounted on the slide. Try them both. I think you will find the CZ grip is hard to beat.

Both guns have solid reputations. Go for the one you like the most.

Take Care

Bob

The Beretta slide is and open slide! The bottom portion of the CZ slide where the recoil spring sits is quite a solid piece of steel! Regardless I would bet money the CZ slide weighs more than the Beretta. Who has both and a scale? C'mon someone has to settle this! LOL

Like I said I have both guns, maybe I can take the slides to the grocery store and weigh them on a scale :p I'm pretty sure Beretta slide is heavier, yes it's open design but it's longer and taller. Think about it this way - 2 guns are both 35oz, 75b is steel framed 92fs is aluminum. CZ's frame has to weigh more! Therefor 92's slide makes up for the weight ;)

Buy the one that fits you best.

Me, I'd buy the CZ as that what works for me. I've owned both before and there really is nothing wrong with either choice. But the CZ suits me personally better than the Beretta.

NAA.

The cz. goes and goes and the ergonomics is way better. I have approx 6,000 to 7,000
rounds through my cz with no failures.
