If you are looking for a old fashion 92FS, like the one Neo use in Matrix, yes it is discontinued. If you don't care about the cosmetic details, you can still get a 90-two with a "improved" grip and a rail system.
The US Army recently placed an order for 25,000 M9 pistols. They are almost identical to the 92FS. Beretta makes some primo 9mm pistols, just look at their new 92FS Elite III guns.
Beretta 92FS's will be around for a long, long time....
it only metters if you prefer one location to the other... Mine is US made, but Beretta being Italian company I can see why people would want a Italian made one. I'd get which ever's cheaper - it's the same gun.
Most of the 92FS you see in the movies are of the old frame style where the dust cover is straight. The new ones have a tapering slanted dust cover.
Currently there's no difference between Italian and US Berettas. They're both pale comparisons to the Italian made 92's back in the late 80's and early 90's. The finish was a satin black, and matched the anodizing on the frame much better than the new ones today.
I can't stand how companies modify their guns over time. I love the old style Beretta 92FS and 1st Gen P99. Can't stand the new ones.
