Beretta 92G for first pistol?

My first was a 92fs. Didn't regret it. I found the 9mm unintimidating and the beretta never failed me. If you're new to shooting all together maybe get the 22 but if you're used to recoil the 9 is not bad.

Pretty sure that beasty is an ex cop gun, not sure who else outside of VPD ERT had 92Gs

That's still a smoking deal they were going for I think $500 maybe 6 when Lever got them from VPD. I missed out on one because I was out of the country when they did that deal. Still pisses me off. But based on the night sights and it being a G, those were only sold to LE agencies at least up here. Only the Elite, Elite II and Elite 1A were available to civies in the G model config. I wish I could remember who else might have used 92Gs but I can only recall VPD ERT having them. And some of theirs were Vertecs as well.
