Beretta 92S & 92G 9mm

lol.. shiney bore...
what is the over all condition of the pistol?
this is a very important part of the appraisal.

92G no more than $500 unless it's an Elite type then you might get upto $1000 depending on how many rounds and overall condition. the S? again no more than $500.

If you are talking about police surplus S's and G's, have a look at my thread about "Surplus Beretta's at Lever Arms".

There are some pictures and some opinions about the gun my gf ultimately bought. It has been a great gun. Easily worth the $550. The problem is, you can buy a new one for $799 plus tax and shipping, so don't pay any more than $550 for a used one.

I don't think any of these surplus guns will have a "shiney" bore. The bore will probably look worn and a bit scratched up. That is fine though, as long as the lands and grooves are still strong and defined. That is what counts.

If you buy one, try and have a look at it first if possible, field strip it and check out the locking block as well as the barrel. Cracked locking blocks have been one of the problems that has caused a move away from Beretta 92/96 type guns for police and military. I think the problem is not very common, and you can replace it anyway, but have a look at the locking block if you can. Also check over the frame and slide for any cracking or excessive wear.
