I swore I was done buying. Ugh. Looked too pretty. Have enough polymer guns, need more steel. Beretta 92X Performance currently available at Prophet River. Seven left....

That's a steep price compared to what they would normally go for

I missed the boat on "reasonable" prices. Post-covid RPAL took forever to arrive. Figured I had plenty of time to research and explore purchase options, then suddenly everything flew off the shelves. Been playing a very expensive game of "now or never" ever since. F*cking liberals...

Try not to worry too much about purchase price. A well kept pistol will last a lifetime. Cost of ammo will make that extra 10-20% at time of purchase negligible.

Enjoy your new gun, it’s a beauty.

Yeah it's a steep price for sure. I really wanted this gun specifically (the 92x performance because I don't like the tan color of the M94A FDE) and because I have literally EVERYTHING else in my collection except a Beretta

Glocks, SWs, CZs, Walther, FNs, Rugers, Brownings, Sig Sauers, Desert Eagle, Canik, Springfield, Standard Manufacturing. I have them all

A Beretta is literally the only popular brand of gun I'm missing

But at $2400, I don't mind sitting this one out. At $2k I would have been game (and even that's overpriced)

Ditto, $1999 is my max price, if I don’t find one at that or below I’ll sit it out as well, panic buying is long over for me.
I missed a batch at 1899,1999 2299 and now there’s this one at 2499.. all in.. 9 days!

Profit river at it again with the price gouging

Is that what it’s called when they’re putting in the effort/time/expense that other retailers aren’t to bring in product? I don’t see anyone else sourcing Beretta’s. Nor several hundred Glocks & Sigs at a time.

Anyone with even a minimal understanding of supply chains, distribution networks, the costs of working beyond those networks, and current transportation costs will understand PR isn’t making a ton of money here. I’d be surprised if they’re doing better than 5%, which given the risks involved is insane.

Am I a PR fanboy? 100%. Because they’ve earned every ounce of it in past dealings. Some of those dealings have even had them telling me to purchase elsewhere because they couldn’t come close. PR is top notch.

PR put out a statement here on CGN saying they were buying from unusual suppliers in any quantity they could get and that the by product of this is price increases. Have to pay full retail in the US the. Bring them up here, tack on 10% for their efforts and there you have it. $2500 Baretta.

I for one am elated with the opportunity to buy one of these when I thought there was no chance I’d get to.

If they were importing their own stock I wouldn't take issue with price gouging. But if they are begging suppliers for stock and paying more than other retailers just to sell at inflated prices, I take issue with that. M9A4 at $280 over AE. Thats almost 20% markup. I expect that on the EE. I won't be thanking PR like many others have for cornering the market.

Just sit tight, it's not like it's literally "now or never". I'm sure Justin and company will reverse the ban and this whole thing will just blow over, then you'll have plenty of time to get your reasonably priced guns.

...In the meantime, I'll be shooting

While you enjoy shooting your over priced guns, I'll keep shooting my reasonably priced ones that I bought from Arms East the day before.

Lol….not much of a math major eh ?

Prophet River and SFRC are in the same price gouging boat. I won’t support them anymore for firearms or accessories.
Ended up picking my last few pistols from CSC, bullseye and IRG. Honest and fair pricing!

If your like me and in a panic to buy up whatever you can, it's easy to see which dealers are increasing prices.i wouldn't go on their subs and call them out, because it's their business and they can do what they want, how they want. But I will remember which companies stayed true to the pricing model.

Tough times indeed and I wouldn't want to be in their shoes. But I'll take 'more' of my money now and in future to those that kept their prices low so i could buy more.

Exactly. We will let those other guys keep buying these over priced guns. Many other companies selling for great prices

280/1449 = 19.3%

Pretty easy to figure out when you know what they were selling for a day ago. Eh?

You’re assuming same distributor & overhead. Even if you are correct about same distributor, aren’t you the one who just posted that PR was paying more to the distributor to ensure supply? If so then they’d have to pass that on. Contradicting yourself within 3 posts. Well done.

No way is their margin 20%.

This thread isn't in their sub, and if you re-read there is no contradiction. I've only stated my thoughts on different scenarios. Nonetheless, I won't thank any retailer in any industry for cornering a market by purchasing all/most of the supply and jacking up prices.

Only stated a 20% markup compared to another dealers price. Not a 20% margin.
