I have been drooling over the beretta 92 series ever since I was about 15, but for some reason never did get one. So I am now thinking of one, but I would like to try .40 S&W a try so I was looking at the Beretta 96A1.

I was reading and apparently they are the F versions, not the FS style that the 92's are. How different is the F over the FS? If I remember, it was something to do with the locking block or something caused the frames to crack and the slide to go flying? Can't really remember.

They are not priced to bad so after I grab my AR in a few weeks I might pick one up.

Thanks.

only difference between F ans FS is a oversized happer pin (that would prevent the slide from going back incase it would crack) I'm pretty sure 96A1 is the same as FS.

the only issue to the A2 series which isnt really a issue more of a preference as i own a 92A1 is the plastic guide spring rod. the A2 models have a self contained one where in the original FS models models had a metal rod and a spring that could be seperated from it.
